Gospel singer Peter Omwaka, popularly known as Guardian Angel, has opened up about his hefty monthly expenses, which he says total Ksh1.5 million.

In an interview with Alex Mwakideu on Tuesday, August 12, the artist explained that his bills never drop below that amount. He attributes the high cost to running his Karen-based office studio, paying staff salaries, and supporting workers at his home.

“I employ security personnel, a goat herder, and a farm worker. My monthly bills are constant and always above Ksh1.5 million,” Guardian Angel revealed.

When asked how he sustains such expenses, the gospel star simply smiled and said, “Kuingia nazo zinaingia mpaka unashangaa,” hinting that his earnings comfortably cover his lifestyle.

Wife Doesn’t Contribute to Rent

The singer also addressed questions about why his wife, Esther Musila, does not contribute to their household rent despite earning her own income. The couple, married since 2021, often draws attention due to their lifestyle and age difference.

Guardian Angel explained that paying rent has always been his responsibility. “Since I started my career, I have always paid rent. Even though she works, our expenses are comfortably covered by my income,” he said.

He added that Esther’s financial independence, as well as her brother’s self-sufficiency, means they have no additional family obligations draining their resources. Despite their income, the couple keeps a modest lifestyle, avoiding extravagant parties and preferring simple meals at home, like roasted chicken.

“Our income is more than enough for the two of us. We live comfortably but modestly, and we focus on living a saved life rather than indulging in big celebrations,” Guardian Angel noted.

The revelation sheds light on the disciplined yet comfortable lifestyle of one of Kenya’s most celebrated gospel artists.
