Digital creator Esther Musila has once again set social media buzzing after resurfacing a video from her 2022 wedding to gospel singer Guardian Angel, revealing an unconventional twist in their marriage vows.
The clip, shared on Musila’s Instagram, shows the couple deliberately skipping the traditional line “for richer, for poorer” during their white wedding ceremony. Instead, they opted for what Musila describes as positive confessions about their future together.
“We Don’t Confess Poverty”
In the video, Guardian Angel—born Peter Omwaka—pledges his love to Musila “for better, for richer and in health,” repeatedly referring to her as his queen and his sunshine.
Musila later explained to her followers that the wording was intentional and rooted in their beliefs.
“Our vows had no ‘for richer for poorer’ because we do not confess that,” she said. “It is: for richer, for health, for better.”
A Carefully Chosen Wedding Date
The couple officially tied the knot on 4 January 2022, a date that doubles as Guardian Angel’s birthday. Their wedding came months after a romantic proposal in May 2021, during Musila’s 51st birthday celebration.
Although the ceremony was private, it quickly became a national talking point, with the couple choosing to share snippets of their journey publicly.
Why the Internet Can’t Look Away
Musila and Guardian Angel’s relationship has attracted intense attention since day one, largely due to their 20-year age difference. At the time of their wedding, Musila was 52 while Guardian Angel was 32—an age gap that continues to fuel debate online.
Despite the scrutiny, the couple has remained unapologetic. Guardian Angel has previously credited Musila with helping him through a period when he felt “empty and incomplete,” while Musila has consistently pushed back against critics, insisting her life purpose goes beyond society’s expectations.

The two met in 2020 through a shared love for music. Musila has revealed that she was first drawn to Guardian Angel after hearing his hit song “Rada” while driving to work.
