Daisy Chepkemoi, a mother of two from Bomet County, tragically passed away after going to a nearby dispensary for medical help.
Her sudden death has left her husband, Wesley Tumising Kiprotich, and their children heartbroken and searching for answers.
On September 25, 2025, Daisy left home around 2 PM, complaining of a headache. She thought a visit to the dispensary would help ease her discomfort.
Wesley was not at home when she left, but he assured their children that their mother would return soon. Unfortunately, that was the last time they saw her.
When Wesley returned home later that day, he noticed Daisy was still missing. He tried calling her phone repeatedly, but there was no answer.
Worried, he reached out to friends and neighbors to see if anyone had seen her. Days passed without any news, deepening his concern.
On September 27, Wesley received devastating news from a police officer who answered Daisy’s phone.
The officer informed him that Daisy had been found dead in the toilet of the dispensary.
Immediately, Wesley rushed to the scene to confirm the heartbreaking news.
According to police reports, some passersby noticed a woman’s leg protruding from the toilet and alerted the authorities.
When the police arrived, they conducted a brief investigation and later took Daisy’s body to a referral hospital for an autopsy.
The autopsy revealed that Daisy died from choking.
It was determined that some liquid had entered her trachea, blocking her airway and causing suffocation.
Wesley explained that there were no major physical injuries on her body, just minor ones on her legs.
Coping with Daisy’s loss has been incredibly hard for Wesley and their children.
He shared that the kids keep asking for their mother, and he struggles to find the right words to comfort them. “Life has become very difficult without her,” he said tearfully.
In the wake of this tragedy, Wesley is trying to raise KSh 200,000 to cover hospital bills, the autopsy, and funeral expenses. Daisy’s burial is scheduled for October 8.
