The gospel music industry has been thrown into the spotlight after Phillis Mutisya’s husband, Tiras Muange, took to Facebook with explosive claims about their marriage.
In his lengthy post, Muange alleged that his wife, a well-known gospel singer, had been unfaithful throughout much of their 12-year union. According to him, efforts to address the matter privately had failed, prompting him to speak out publicly.
“The worst feeling for a man is when he tries to have a conversation with a woman about her behaviour that hurts him daily, but instead of listening, she turns the situation around on him,” he wrote.
Muange reflected on both the good and painful moments of their marriage, highlighting their shared family life and ministry work. However, he alleged that behind the scenes, his wife was involved in secret relationships. He went as far as listing several names of men he claimed she had been romantically linked with, many of them married.
“The many moments of secretive excitement, sex escapes, infidelity in hotel rooms, Airbnbs and road trips is not worth the damage you’ve done,” he stated.
He concluded his post by saying he had decided to “release her” and described her as “a free bird,” suggesting that he was moving on from the relationship despite the pain.
The allegations have sparked mixed reactions online. Some sympathized with Muange for his heartbreak, while others cautioned that such private matters should not be aired on social media.
Meanwhile, a close friend of Phillis, identified as Dorine Nyiva, defended the singer. She accused Muange of tarnishing Phillis’s reputation and urged her to pursue legal action for defamation.
The story has stirred debate not just about marriage and fidelity, but also about the pressures public figures face when personal issues spill into the limelight. As of now, Phillis Mutisya has not issued a direct response to the allegations.
The situation remains tense, with fans and industry followers waiting to see how it unfolds in the coming days.
