Kenyan gospel singer Ninah of Wapendwa Muziki has emotionally opened up about the difficult childbirth experience she endured while welcoming her son.
The singer, whose real name is Peninah Wambui, shared her story during C-Section Awareness Month, revealing that her labour became life-threatening after the baby reportedly got stuck during delivery.
According to Ninah, doctors were forced to intervene urgently and perform complicated medical procedures to safely deliver the child. She described the moment as terrifying, saying fear and uncertainty filled the room.
She also disclosed that at the same time, she was dealing with a large fibroid that was later removed, making the entire medical ordeal even more painful and exhausting.
Despite the trauma, Ninah said everything changed the moment she heard her baby cry for the first time. That sound, she explained, marked relief, hope, and survival after a frightening experience.
The gospel singer expressed gratitude that both she and her son came through safely, calling it one of the most emotional moments of her life.
Using her testimony, Ninah also encouraged mothers who have undergone C-section deliveries, reminding them that their motherhood journey is just as valid and powerful.
