Francis Gaitho isn’t holding back after the DCI shared his photos on their social media.

Taking to Twitter, Gaitho called out the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and its boss, Mohammed Amin, accusing them of breaking the law by posting his pictures online without permission.

“It’s illegal for @DCI_Kenya to post my photos,” he wrote, adding that he plans to sue both the agency and its director. Gaitho even claimed the move was influenced by Farouk Kibet, a well-known political figure, hinting at foul play.

Gaitho’s frustration ties into a recent court ruling that banned police from sharing booking photos of suspects online.

According to him, the DCI is blatantly ignoring this decision and violating his privacy rights.

The tweet has sparked major conversations online, with many Kenyans backing Gaitho and slamming the DCI under hashtags like #RutoMustGo and #EndAbductionsKE.

Some, however, believe the photos might have been posted as part of normal police procedures and think Gaitho might be overreacting.

This isn’t the first time Gaitho has taken on the DCI, but his threat to sue has raised the stakes. Whether this lands in court or ends with a truce, all eyes are on the DCI to see how they respond.
