The DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua accused President Ruto of fueling tribalism, saying his leadership is a major obstacle to national unity and development.
During the tour in Western, the former deputy president recounted his tour at Coast and Ukambani alluding that the ground is already hostile against President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza administration.
“We’ve been to the Coast, Ukambani, with the Maasai, and now here in Western. The voices of the people are the same everywhere , everyone is saying Ruto must go. He has no choice but to prepare for departure,” Gachagua said in Mumias, on the second day of their tour.
He said the opposition will work with Gen Z youth to oversee the 2027 elections and prevent electoral fraud.
“We will not rely on the IEBC for results. We’ll have our own tallying centers because IEBC officials are Ruto loyalists,” he added.
According to Gachagua, politics is a numbers game and Ruto is losing support every day.
He said Ruto has already lost the 4 million votes he received from the Mt. Kenya region after political fallout in the move to impeach him.
“I apologize to Kenyans for helping Ruto become president. I supported him in many ways, but now I will help the oppressed Kenyans send him home,” he added.
The team toured several areas from Mumias to Ogalo market and Butula in Busia, Bungoma town, Chwele, Kimilili, Kiminini, and Kitale.
