Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made an unexpected phone call to popular entertainer DJ Dibul On Sunday, Evening, during a live club set, sparking excitement among revellers.The surprise moment was captured and shared by DJ Dibul on social media, captioned, “RIGGY G surprise phone call to mafans.”

Gachagua, currently on a political tour in the United States, began his message by greeting the audience with his signature phrase, “Hi Cousins,” which was met with enthusiastic chants from the crowd.

He shared that Kenyans in the diaspora had extended greetings and echoed the phrase “One Term” in reference to the current administration, a chant that clubgoers in Kenya quickly picked up on.

Speaking passionately, Gachagua voiced concerns over rising economic challenges, ballooning public debt, and the disconnect between ordinary Kenyans and the country’s leadership.

“The pain Kenyans are expressing globally is real. It fuels our resolve to push for democratic transformation,” he stated.Gachagua’s trip to the U.S. marked his first official international engagement since his exit from office in October 2024.

As the 2027 election draws closer, he is rallying support from Kenyans overseas by rebranding himself as an opposition figure.

Gachagua explained that his objective is to confront the administration through the electoral process rather than to topple it, framing his “Wantam” (One Term) campaign as a constitutional effort for reform.

He called on President Ruto to give significant economic reform a priority and encouraged Gen Z and other eligible voters to register before 2027.
