Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has pointed fingers at two senior government officials, accusing them of being behind the wave of goon violence sweeping across Kenya.
According to Gachagua, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo are the ones giving direct orders to use criminal gangs against ordinary Kenyans.
Gachagua says the goons are not acting alone. He believes they are working hand in hand with the police, who are supposedly meant to protect citizens, not harm them.
“The police have clearly confirmed to me that goons are being used alongside them,” Gachagua stated.
What makes this even more alarming is the timing. Kenya is heading into a heated campaign season ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Violence has already been reported at several political rallies, and many Kenyans are asking one simple question, which is why the police not stopping it?
Gachagua believes the answer is straightforward and people should not be fooled continuously. The police are not stopping the goons because they are working with them.
He also links this back to Kenya’s 2024 Haiti mission, where over 400 Kenyan police officers were deployed.
Gachagua claims that mission was never about helping Haiti. It was about learning how gangs operate and bringing those tactics back home.
Whether these claims are true or not, one thing is clear. Kenya’s political season is getting darker, and someone powerful may be pulling the strings.
