Former Subukia MP Nelson Gaichuhie has made a remarkable comeback into the public service after being appointed to a top government job in the latest state appointments.
In the changes, Gaichuhie has been appointed by trade and industrialization Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui as the board chairperson of the Anti- Counterfeit Agency for a period of three years.
The appointment of Gaichuhie has been made through a gazette notice.
Gaichuhie served as Subukia MP for two terms, from 2007 when he was elected to Parliament on the then President Mwai Kibaki’s PNU party, until 2017 when he was defeated.
During his time in Parliament, Gaichuhie served as the vice chairperson of the finance and planning commitee. Besides that, he was also a member of the budget and appropriations commitee.
In 2018, in the changes made by President Uhuru Kenyatta, he was appointed as the Treasury Chief Administrative Secretary, the position he held until 2022 when he rejoined the murky world of politics. He lost in his quest to recapture the Subukia MP seat.
