Former Deputy Inspector General of Police in-charge of the Administration Police Service wing, Noor Gabow, on Tuesday made rare public appearance when he visited the Multinational Security Support operating base in Haiti.
Gabow was received by the commander of the Kenyan contingent, Geoffrey Otunge.
The visit by Gabow comes just days after he officially assumed his new role as Kenya’s Consul General to Port-au-Princes after presenting his credentials to Haiti’s foreign affairs minister.
His assumption of office came months since his appointment to the position by President William Ruto.
The former no-nonsense cop served as DIG- APS for six years since his appointment in 2018 by the then President Uhuru Kenyatta until July 2024 when he was redeployed by President Ruto in the sweeping security changes.
Prior to his appointment as the DIG- APS, Gabow served as the commandant, Kenya Police Training College-Kiganjo.
In 2022, following the exit of the then Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, Gabow served as the acting IG until the appointment of Japheth Koome.
