Former Kiss FM presenter Kerry Martin has finally broken his silence after content creator Faith Wanjiku accused him of abandoning her and their newborn baby during a difficult time.
The issue came to light after Wanjiku shared an emotional video on TikTok that quickly went viral. In the video, she claimed that Kerry left her alone in hospital with a huge medical bill of KSh 500,000 after she gave birth to a premature baby.
According to Wanjiku, she stayed in the hospital for three months as the baby received special care. During that period, she said she struggled on her own to clear the bill, alleging that Kerry disappeared and did not support her in any way.
Her story sparked strong reactions online, with many Kenyans expressing sympathy for her situation and calling out the former radio presenter.
In response, Kerry Martin shared screenshots of private conversations between him and Wanjiku. In the messages, he stated clearly that he was not ready to become a father when she informed him about the pregnancy.
He claimed that Wanjiku made the decision to keep the baby despite his position. According to him, she assured him at the time that she would take full responsibility and would not involve him in raising the child.
Kerry’s response has added a new twist to the story, leading to even more debate on social media. Some people have defended him, saying he had already made his stand clear from the beginning.
A section of netizens even accused Wanjiku of trying to force responsibility on him despite knowing his position.
However, others strongly disagreed. Many argued that regardless of what was said before the child was born, the baby is now here and deserves support from both parents. They insisted that Kerry has a moral duty to step up and help raise the child.
