Grief engulfed members of Shunem High School in Lanet, Nakuru County, following the untimely demise of a 17-year-old form four student, who allegedly died by suicide.
As per the source, before the girl took away her life, she and her colleagues were busy revising on Sunday night, for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mathematics paper two, that was scheduled for Monday, 10th November 2025.
However, the girl reportedly excused herself from the class where other students were, and claimed that she was going to the dormitories. She left the classroom but never returned back.
Her teacher became overly concerned after her long absence prompting her to request the other students to help her to trace the girl.
Unfortunately, their search tragically ended in tears and loud screams, after they discovered her lifeless body dangling loosely inside one of the classrooms. A piece of cloth was tight around her neck.
Aside from that, the other students also discovered a suicide note that the girl had drafted addressing her parents, as she had left it on the locker where it could easily be noticed.
As a result, police officers were briefed on what had transpired, and they went to the school to collect the body which they later took to the mortuary.
Her parents were notified about the tragic death of their daughter tragedy and were left heartbroken and questioning why she had to end her life in such a cruel manner.
