Grieving and dealing with the changes which follow any loss is never easy. People often experience unpredictable extremes of emotion, feel insecure, and at times feel out of control.

A family at Chanda village in Lusui, Kakamega county has suffered a double tragedy after a mother and son died days apart.

Joseph Chama Asuza commonly known as Asuu died days after his mother had her last breath. The mother died a week ago due to cardiac arrest.

Asuu, a former Kenyan football player who used to play for Red Berrets, has been working as a security officer with the UN in USA.

Following his mother’s death, he jetted back home to make arrangements for the burial. On arrival in the country, he headed to his rural home and on Saturday morning, with his younger brother, they left for Nairobi to make arrangements on how their mother’s body will be ferried back home for burial this coming Saturday. The duo arrived safely, but on Sunday, Asuu reportedly threw himself out of an Uber on Thika Road and unfortunately the oncoming vehicles crashed him to death.

Reports indicate that Asuu looked so distressed and disturbed following the death of his mother.

Feelings of pain and distress following bereavement can be overwhelming and very frightening. Death can seem cruel and unfair, especially when you feel someone has died before their time or when you had plans for the future together.
