Nominated member of Parliament John Mbadi has caused a moment of fireworks in Parliament after lecturing President Ruto following his statement that he has stabilized the economy since coming into power.
According to the video shared, Mbadi claimed that last week he keenly listened to Ruto’s State of Nation address in Parliament and could not get any facts from his speech. He poked holes in his statement as he claimed that the high cost of essential commodities is as a result of unstable economy. He then questioned Ruto on how he is trying to fight corruption when his ministers are using choppers to events that are less meaningful instead of diverting such money into necessary priorities.
“I was here on Thursday and listened to Ruto’s State of Nation address, I have also listened to majority leader’s remarks supporting the President that they have stabilized the economy. Our shilling is drastically falling, inflation is biting the country which economy have they stabilized, why is he blaming the Russia- Ukraine war when during the campaign period he slammed the government for blaming the same government for high prices of fuel among other products. My advice to Ruto is to fire his economic advisors immediately because they are misleading him,” John Mbadi said.
This comes after majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah defended the President that the economy is now on hood hands and that in the coming days Kenyans will see the fruits of electing President Ruto.
