A light moment has been witnessed in Parliament after national assembly speaker Moses Wetangula forced Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba to apologize to the house after going against the procedures required of the house.
According to the video shared, Wetangula claimed that majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah is obliged to provide the direction to be followed to the ministers when they appear to the house for grilling, however despite the direction from the majority leader, Namwamba went ahead and wrote a letter giving value judgement on the same something that was not received well by the Speaker.
“I found the content of the letter read by MP Ichung’wah very strange, the ministers come to answer questions guided by you (Ichung’wah) writing to Mr Speaker after he has given direction is inadvisable. To cut the long story short, CS Namwamba you tender an apology to the house,” Speaker Wetangula said as the lawmakers applauded.
The minister was however forced to apologize to the house as he withdrew the content of the letter that was read by majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah.
