Fidel Castro Odinga the eldest son of the late leader Raila Odinga, was a prominent yet enigmatic figure in Kenyan politics and business, often described as the “gem and glue” of the Odinga family who operated largely behind the scenes.
Known for his charm, immense wealth, and strategic political networking, his untimely death at 41 triggered intense public fascination regarding his private life, business dealings, and political ambitions.
Before his tragic death, Fidel Odinga made headlines for his charm and political family ties. But long before that, he was known for his marriage to Veronica Wanjiru Ng’ang’a a union that captured Kenya’s attention.
Their wedding in 2007 was more than a love story. It was a symbol of peace between Kenya’s two biggest communities the Luo and the Kikuyu.Veronica however categorically said she amicably parted ways with the late Fidel Odinga. She disclosed she had a good relationship with Fidel that she even learnt how to speak Dholuo.
Veronica shook off the divorce rumours that flooded news outlets jokingly saying she could publish a book out of it.
After divorce with his first wife Veronic, Fidel married his Eritrean partner, Lwam Bekele, in 2012 in a wedding ceremony attended by close family members, relatives and friends. In 2013, they had a child together.
However, barely two years after the lavish wedding, the couple announced their divorce. Before his marriage to Bekele, Fidel initially married Veronica Wanjiru.
Following his divorce from Bekele in 2014, it is not yet clear whether Fidel remarried. He later passed away in January 2015 under mysterious circumstances.
