Police in Nairobi are investigating a heinous case in which a thirty six year-old man was burnt to death inside is Subaru car at a parking lot in Buruburu phase five.

Terrence Korir, married to twenty nine year-old Ruth Wanjiku with whom they had two children, stayed in House Number 465 within Mai Haiu Court from who’s parking his charred body was retrieved. The Wednesday morning incident attracted police from every investigatory wing.

The incident was reported by chairman of the court Cyrus Chege. Chege called police after receiving information from the guards manning the court that there was a car on fire at the parking yard.

Officers from Buruburu police station rushed to the scene alongside fire engines from the Nairobi City County. The firefighters doused the car and completely put off the fire. It was then that a body was seen inside the car, a Subaru Imprezza registration number KBY 799M.

Neighbors immediately identified the victim as Terrence as police processed the scene. It was not immediately established if the cause of death was the fire or if he was dead before fire broke out. Cause of the fire has also not been established.

Police will pursue either accident angle or arson. There were no witnesses to shed light on events that transpired leading to the fire. Police have launched investigations but have not made much progress as they await forensic results on cause of the fire and an autopsy to determine cause of death.

The early morning incident caused jitters in the sleepy suburb with speculation rife that there was a domestic tiff before the unfortunate incident.
