Kenyan musician and actress Sanaipei Tande has opened up about her views on marriage, saying it should not be treated as the ultimate achievement in life.
Speaking on the RawTalk Hub Podcast, Sanaipei encouraged people to live life at their own pace instead of giving in to pressure from society.
She explained that many people are often judged for not getting married or having children, yet those applying the pressure are not the ones who will carry the responsibilities involved.
According to the singer, marriage and parenthood are personal choices and not everyone dreams of the same path in life.
She noted that while some people strongly desire to become parents or settle down, others simply do not feel the same way, and that should be respected.
Her remarks quickly sparked debate online. A section of social media users agreed with her, saying success should not be defined by marriage.
Others, however, argued that a happy and stable marriage is still an important milestone for many people.
In another interview with Dr Ofweneke, Sanaipei also revealed that she remains in contact with some of her former partners and believes there is no reason to hold grudges after a breakup unless there was betrayal or abuse involved.
