Famous KTN sports journalist Ahmed Bahajj has announced to the whole world that he is leaving the Standard Group-owned station.
This was via a post on his Facebook account, where he disclosed that he was calling it quits after working there for four years and six months.
In the message Ahmed Bahajj who was famous for hosting the show dubbed ‘Zilizala Viwanjani’, was grateful for the time that he spent at the station.
He was also proud of how much he has been able to develop his journalism career.

Baada ya miaka 4 na miezi 6 ya kufanya kazi Ktn News kama mtangazaji na pia ripota ningependa kuchukua fursa hii kukueleza shabiki wangu kuwa sasa umefika wakati wa kuondoka.
Ktn News imenifunza mengi na kunijengea jukwaa kubwa la mashabiki kwa vipindi vya Zilizala Viwanjani, Kipi Sijasikia na pia paruwanja kura ya maoni ya mwananchi.
Imekuwa ni heshima kubwa kwangu kufanya kazi na moja ya kituo bora zaidi hapa nchini, naondoka nikiwa mwanahabari wa kujivunia…” he wrote.
Ahmed Bahajj joins KTN
Ahmed Bahajj actually joined KTN in January 2019, and this was after some top anchors had left the station a year prior.
He therefore joined the KTN News Sports Desk, where he worked alongside seasoned journalist and Swahili sports editor Hassan Jumaa.
In a post that he shared on his Facebook account, Ahmed Bahajj then announced that he was the new host of the Swahili sports show ‘Zilizala Viwanjani’.
“Mwaka mpya mambo mapya, kwa furaha na bashasha shabiki wangu wa nguvu naomba ujumuike nami kwa mara ya kwanza kwa kipindi cha ZILIZALA VIWANJANI saa kumi na moja jioni ya leo siku ya jumanne…Njoo huku uburudike” he wrote.
Before joining KTN, Ahmed Bahajj had worked as a news anchor and producer at the China Radio International (CRI).
His move to quit the Mombasa Road-based media house however comes at a time when top journalists have been quitting also, ahead of a restructuring exercise.
Some who have already left include Sophia Wanuna, Sharon Momanyi, John Mwaura, Patrick Amimo and also Dr. Mercy Korir among others.
