Mukoye

A family in Pipeline Estate, Nairobi County, is grieving the brutal killing of their daughter, 27-year-old Susan Nabwire, who was allegedly murdered by her husband, a former police officer.

The suspect, identified as Cyprian Mukoye, is accused of attacking his wife inside their Kware home in the early hours of August 13.According to reports, the quarrel began after he demanded her M-Pesa phone and PIN.

“Please help me get my daughter’s body home for burial. We have nothing because her husband stole all the money from her shop,” pleaded a tearful Phylis, Susan’s mother.

Phylis explained that Mukoye returned home, asked for food, but refused to eat.

He then demanded Susan’s M-Pesa PIN, which she declined to give.

The two reportedly argued the entire night.

At around 3am, Susan was preparing to leave for work when the man allegedly picked an axe from the bathroom and struck her on the neck. The attack happened in the presence of their one-year-old child and househelp, who screamed for help. Susan’s body was later found hidden under the bed.

It is further alleged that Mukoye also assaulted the househelp before locking the house and escaping.

Family members described Susan as a hardworking businesswoman who operated an M-Pesa shop at Nairobi’s Country Bus Station.

They believe she was targeted not only out of jealousy but also because of her business income.

Investigators confirmed that the suspect was later arrested and is in custody at Embakasi Police Station.

He is expected to face murder and assault charges in court.

Susan’s family has called for justice, saying her death has left them shattered.
