Everton were dominant at Goodison Park against Arsenal as they won 1-0 to seal all the 3 points at home. Everton defence lead by Goalkeeper Pickford covered by Captain Coleman, Tarkowski, Coady and Mykolenko who managed to counter Arsenal attack. The Gunners dominated ball possession in the first half but Toffees remained focused to keep a clean sheet at home.
Everton star James Tarkowski was outstanding in the second half as he scored the winner in the 60th minute and managed to silence Arsenal trio Saka, Odegaard and Nketiah. Tarkowski made huge blocks, interceptions, tackles and clearances to ensure the Toffees claim clean sheet victory. Tarkowski had 90% passing accuracy, completed long passes and made good ball recoveries as he dispossessed Arsenal forwards in the final third. Tarkowski was named as the man of the match after receiving a rating of 9 after keeping a clean sheet as a defender and scoring the winner for Everton.
