The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has confirmed the raid of a senior police officer’s residence, following public speculation surrounding the discovery of large sums of money.

In a statement released Tuesday, the EACC revealed that the operation was part of an ongoing investigation into unexplained wealth and suspected corruption. During the search, officials recovered over KSh 50 million in cash, hidden in various locations within the officer’s Nairobi home.

The EACC stated that the raid was conducted lawfully, under a court-issued search warrant. “The Commission acted on credible intelligence and is committed to pursuing all leads regarding the accumulation of wealth through illicit means,” the statement read.

Sources within the investigation suggest the officer is linked to a network suspected of embezzlement and abuse of office. The officer, whose identity has not been officially disclosed, has been summoned for questioning.

This latest raid underscores the EACC’s renewed efforts to tackle corruption within the police service. The Commission assured the public of due process and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability.
