Being a parent comes with joys and silent battles. For Triza Njeri, the journey has brought tears behind closed doors.
She recently shared a deeply personal moment about her firstborn son, Emmanuel, who she says has been going through emotional struggles. Could the end of a marriage affect a child more than we often think?
In a message posted on her Facebook page, Triza opened up about her son’s wellbeing, explaining that he no longer wants to stay in boarding school.
His words, she says, carry a heavy tone, one that only a hurting child could use. The singer, who has raised Emmanuel mostly on her own since separating from gospel star Karangu Muraya, said she prays daily for her son’s healing.
What moved many is how openly she admitted the changes she has seen in him. She says Emmanuel recently begged her not to send him back to boarding school. His plea was clear and firm, and it left her worried about what he might be dealing with silently.
Triza hinted that the child’s mental distress could be linked to past conversations with his father. Responding to a comment on her post, she claimed that Karangu may have shared some words with their son that affected him deeply. She did not go into details but expressed her disappointment in how things had unfolded since their separation.
As emotions poured in from followers, many agreed that children often carry the emotional weight of breakups. Some even called on both parents to focus more on supporting the child emotionally, beyond school fees or gifts.
Co-parenting isn’t always smooth, especially after a public breakup. But in this case, Triza’s message is clear. She wants healing for her son, peace in his mind, and a future where he feels safe again.
