Immanuel Meita, a close ally to President Ruto now said he has not gotten anything from the head of state despite campaigning for him under harsh conditions in Migori county.
President William Ruto got down to work on the same day of his inauguration, signing executive orders that appointed Court of Appeal judges.
Meita claims that he used his own money, was attacked while campaigning for president Ruto in Migori county and he has not received anything from him.
“I used my money, I was attacked while campaigning for president Ruto in Migori and i have not received anything,” Immanuel Meita said.
Meita and Dr Ruto enjoy a cordial relationship that dates back to 2012, when Ruto was assembling his political party.
Should President Ruto seek a second term come 2027, then he should be keen on battling for a piece of Migori through appointments in his government.
A section of leaders and analysts said that the President should play his cards carefully if he expects to win over Migori ahead of the next elections.
