Controversial preacher Pastor James Ng’ang’a has hit back at Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, who had earlier called for an investigation into a viral video in which he appears to confess to participating in a gang rape incident.

In the viral clip, Pastor Ng’ang’a narrates an incident from his past, claiming to have been involved in criminal activities before finding salvation.

The video sparked outrage online, prompting Passaris to urge authorities to take action and investigate the preacher’s statements.

However, Ng’ang’a has now dismissed Passaris’ remarks, accusing her of meddling in matters she doesn’t understand.

“My sister, wewe ni kitu kidogo kwangu, wewe ni mtoto mdogo. Tafuta rika yako, don’t try me. Mimi siyo rika yako,” he said during a church service, warning the legislator to stay out of his affairs.

The preacher defended himself, saying his comments were part of his testimony about transformation and redemption after a troubled past.

“I share my testimony so people come to church. Mimi napeana testimony yangu vile nimeokoka. Kuna watu jela ambao wanatupwa na shetani, and I speak for them,”

Ng’ang’a explained, insisting that he uses his story to inspire those struggling with sin and criminal lifestyles.

He further accused critics of taking his past confessions out of context, arguing that his life story demonstrates the power of God’s grace.

Passaris, in her earlier statement, maintained that such confessions should not be taken lightly, noting that “any admission related to sexual violence warrants a thorough investigation to ensure justice for victims.”

The fiery exchange between the two public figures has reignited debate on whether religious testimonies should be subjected to legal scrutiny, especially when they touch on past crimes.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on whether any investigation into Pastor Ng’ang’a’s remarks will be launched.
