Reverend Sister Shako Annastasia, recently dismissed from her congregation after a controversial social media post, has revealed that her inbox is now flooded with marriage proposals.

Annastasia trended after posting a bold message criticizing the mistreatment of women in religious life. She wrote:

“Religious sisters are not priests’ wives or bedmates. We are not ornaments in habits or commodities for priests to use at will. We are women called by God, consecrated to service, prayer, and the mission of the Church. Yet too often, behind stained glass windows and polished marble altars, we are treated as less. A priest once told me without shame: ‘Sisters are meant to be priests’ wives.’ He meant it, and he acted on it.”

Soon after the post, she disclosed that over 1,000 men had reached out asking for her hand in marriage. Sharing some of the messages, she joked that choosing a partner would require an “audition” or “competition.”

“Those of you saying I should get married, will you sponsor the wedding? How will I choose between one thousand men? And I was told men are scarce,” she wrote.

One admirer promised to take her to Dubai and America, while others offered commitments of love. Annastacia admitted she was surprised by the attention, noting that some people had previously mocked her looks.

Her disclosure sparked mixed reactions online. Some fans encouraged her to accept one of the proposals, while others warned that many men in her inbox might not be serious.

Separately, Annastacia raised fears for her safety, alleging harassment by influential figures in the church. She stated that if anything were to happen to her, the truth of her experiences was already documented on her Facebook page.
