Diamond Platnumz, a Bongo star, has expressed his heartfelt sadness over the loss of former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Raila, who died on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 80, collapsed during a morning walk and suffered a heart attack while receiving medical treatment in Kochi, India.
His death has left the entire nation in sadness. Diamond paid an impassioned homage to the late political hero on Instagram Stories, writing, “Mwenyezi Mungu ailaze roho yake mahali pema peponi.” “Amen,” which translates to “May God rest his soul in eternal peace.”
The Tanzanian rapper had expressed his support for Raila during the 2022 general election. Diamond performed for Raila just two days before the election, on August 6, 2022, at the final Azimio la Umoja coalition rally at Nairobi’s Moi Sports Center Kasarani.
His act was a demonstration of support for Raila and his political ideas, and it became a memorable moment of the campaign.
