Renowned South African TikToker Siqiniseko Mvelase was shot dead while he was live-streaming on TikTok, shocking his fans and followers.
The 27-year-old, who was known for his reviews of maskandi music, was at his home when a gunman entered and fired at him over 15 times.
The tragic incident took place during a live session at 11:49 am.
Even in his final moments, Mvelase was looking at his phone when the assailant burst into his home and attacked him.
This shocking crime unfolded in front of his viewers, leaving many in disbelief.
Mvelase hailed from KwaMaphumulo in KwaZulu-Natal and had gained a large following on TikTok for his engaging commentary on maskandi music—a popular genre in South Africa.
He was a devoted fan of maskandi star Mthandeni Manqele and often criticized another well-known artist, Khuzani Mpungose, in his videos.
This was not the first time Mvelase faced danger.
He was kidnapped last year, and just last month, he reported that his TikTok account had been hacked.
His untimely death has left his fans and the music community in shock and mourning.
Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, a spokesperson for the Gauteng police, confirmed that the Dunnator police are investigating Mvelase’s murder.
She provided details about the incident, stating, “It is reported that the victim was sitting in his yard when an unknown suspect approached him and shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene.”
