Comedienne and social media personality Dem Wa Facebook is mourning the death of her grandmother, Respher Aywa Ashuma, who passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 96.
In a heartfelt post shared on Facebook on August 15, Dem Wa Facebook expressed her deep sorrow as the family laid Ashuma to rest in their home village in Butere.
She described her grandmother as a strong, loving, and wise woman who guided their family with grace.
“Saying goodbye is never easy,” she wrote. “But we are grateful for the love, wisdom, and strength she gave us. Rest well, Shosh. You will always be in our hearts.”
Photos shared from the burial showed Dem Wa Facebook holding a wooden cross, clearly emotional.
Another family member stood beside her, holding a framed picture of the late Ashuma.
On the day of her passing, Dem Wa Facebook remembered her grandmother as a true queen.
She thanked her for the many years of laughter, faith, and guidance, calling it a blessing to have shared life with her.
“She gave us 96 beautiful years. Her strength and love will stay with us forever,” she wrote.
The loss has touched many of her followers, who sent messages of comfort and support during this difficult time.
