A group of DCI detectives conducted a raid at the home of Patrick Osoi, a former soldier of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and a veteran of the US Army, and arrested him.
The arrest happened due to his plans to recruit ex soldiers into an anti-government political movement.
Osoi, was arrested hours after establishing the Fighting Brutality and Impunity (FBI) group, and was taken into custody by heavily armed officers.
Today, Wednesday morning, his team confirmed that he’s at Muthaiga Police Station, facing charges related to the preparation to commit a felony.
Among his associates was Police Constable Hiram Kimathi, who had defied a transfer order after opposing a ‘shoot order’ issued by his superiors.
Additionally, Osoi had recruited Jackson Kuria Kihara, known as Cop Shakur, a prison officer who was suspended for participating in the anti-Finance Bill protests in June.
His arrest occurs amid rising tensions regarding the increase in police brutality in the country.
