Nigerian couple is celebrating after 30 long years of waiting for their first child, finally welcoming a healthy baby boy into their lives.
The journey for Mr. and Mrs. Omotinugbon was filled with challenges, including two failed IVF attempts and a complicated pregnancy at age 56.
Their story has become a testimony of unwavering faith, patience, and perseverance, inspiring others who are also longing for children.
In an emotional video capturing their testimony at church, the couple appeared radiant in matching white traditional outfits.
Mrs. Omotinugbon recounted their story, revealing that they had married in 1994 and had endured decades of waiting for the fruit of the womb.
“I have undergone two failed IVF treatments. We have been through prayers, and as God willed it, in May 2024, I conceived.
The journey was challenging because of my age, but I was able to sail through. By the time the baby was born, I was close to 57,” she said.
Reflecting on the moment of childbirth in January 2025, she added, “I used to ask God, ‘When will I testify?’ You have not called me to shame, and now I have a bouncing baby boy.”
Her husband was overwhelmed with emotion, initially unable to speak as tears streamed down his face while cradling the newborn.
Seeing his struggle, Mrs. Omotinugbon took the microphone to continue their story, emphasizing hope and encouragement for others: “To the glory of God, the Omotinugbon family has been blessed with a bouncing baby boy. If God did it for us, He will surely do it for you. Believe!”
Pastor Daniel Olukoya affirmed their testimony, praising God for the blessing and encouraging others to maintain faith.
The Omotinugbons’ story is now a beacon of hope for couples enduring long struggles with fertility, showing that patience, faith, and perseverance can lead to joyous outcomes even after decades of waiting.
Reactions: Ayat Loretta Huffode: “This testimony may seem like a long wait, but it is actually a miracle because what many thought was not possible.
The Lord delivered a tremendous blessing and showed grace in the form of impossibility. This couple’s devotion to and love for the Lord makes me glad. I hear everything you were unable to say.
There is a lair for that devil. Okwulehie, Ogechi Nwaulu: “This man tried ooooooo. Nteh Obimba Ngozi: “I don’t want to cry this time.”
“Other men flee.” You have no idea how much God has done for you by allowing you to have children so easily.
When you see an old man weeping, you can see that the tears are not just happy ones, but also the sorrows he has endured over the years.
