Content creator Michelle Joyce, popularly known as Mjaka Mfine has lamented losing her human-hair wig to thugs last week at the Nairobi CBD.

Michelle, who spoke to presenter Tony Mwirigi, said her the stolen wig was worth Sh17,000.

She described the incident as embarrassing and she could not call anyone.

“I did not call anyone. The incident was very so funny that she could not call anyone but only told her sister,” Michelle said.

She said the situation has made her to be more cautious while walking on the streets.

Cases of human hair theft are rampant in Kenya, especially in Nairobi.

Nail Tech Kristy last week also revealed how her wig was allegedly snatched by thieves in Nairobi CBD.

She claimed that the thugs first knocked her on the head before pulling off the wig, describing the pain as feeling like someone waxing her hairline.

Kristy said several people watched as the incident happened but no one helped her.

The thieves target unsuspecting women walking in busy streets, crowded alleys or stuck in traffic.

Apparently, it is not only wigs that are being stolen. Medicated glasses are also attracting thieves.

“I’d understand why wigs are getting stolen in the central business district, medicated glasses jameni? Vipofu tutolewe kwa hizo hesabu,” a social media user @eun_ieythira said.
