The country is still mourning the death of ten Kenya Defence Forces soldiers who perished in a chopper crash in West Pokot a week ago. The military officers have been buried in their respective homes and in different times of the week.
One of the officers known as Major George Benson Kabue Magondu has sparked discussions across social media following an obituary that revealed about his family’s military and police connections.
The obituary published in a daily newspaper, revealed that he was married to Captain Brenda Atieno Okello, also a member of the military, and that they shared three children together. The orbituary gave a detailed listing of family members who were serving in either the military or the Kenya Police.
It disclosed that numerous relatives of Major Magondu are in the military and police forces, and this has raised opinions regarding the influence of family connections on career.
