A man from Githunguri, Kiambu County, has landed in trouble after he was arraigned in court for expressing his love to a woman through a text message.
According to reports by Ghetto Radio, the message was flagged as offensive, leading to his arrest and subsequent prosecution.
The SMS, sent at around 9:30 p.m., began politely with a greeting before the man poured out his feelings. In the message, he admitted that he wanted to be honest with the lady and assured her that he did not intend to upset her.
He went on to confess that every time she spoke to him, he was captivated by her beauty. The man further revealed that he loved her deeply, wished to be with her, and pleaded with her not to fear him.
Struggling to contain his emotions, he admitted that he could no longer hide his feelings and left the final decision to her. He ended the message by wishing her a good night.
While to some, the message may sound like an innocent declaration of affection, the woman reportedly found it inappropriate and flagged it, prompting legal action.
The incident has since sparked mixed reactions, with some questioning whether confessing love through a text message should attract legal consequences.
