Citizen TV presenters found themselves in an unexpected situation after personal phone numbers were reportedly shared online by individuals believed to be government bloggers.
However, the presenters Linus Kaikai, Mashirima Kapombe, and Yvonne Okwara, were instead met with an outpouring of love and encouragement from Kenyans. Rather than being targeted, they were overwhelmed by the countless messages of kindness and support that flooded their phones.
Linus Kaikai expressed his gratitude, saying, “My fellow Kenyans, I am overwhelmed by your countless messages of love, kindness and encouragement. This was certainly not the intended outcome of that early morning ‘brief’.
Thank you for the very many calls, too; I spoke to a lot of amazing countrymen. Let’s keep talking, loving and serving Kenya in the best way we can. God bless you all.”
Mashirima Kapombe was also touched by the unexpected reaction, stating, “I don’t think this is what they expected.
Thank you for all the kind and warm messages. You all give me hope that Kenya will triumph and we are better together; known and unknown, rich or poor, Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X. God bless you ❤️ and our great country.”
Yvonne Okwara echoed similar sentiments, saying, “What a day! Absolutely pleasure hearing from you all today. Shukran sana kwa salamu!”
This unexpected outpouring of love and solidarity from Kenyans towards the Citizen TV presenters serves as a testament to the power of unity and the shared desire for a better Kenya, where the truth can be spoken without fear of repercussions.
