If you are a fan of Kikuyu secular songs you must have come across this lady called Jane Wanjiku or Ciku De Mathew who is a famous Kikuyu secular artist. She is also a social media influencer.
Ciku is the first daughter of the late legendary Kikuyu artist called John De Mathew who died in the year 2018 in Kiambu county after he was involved in a nasty road accident. John De Mathew left his two wives Caroline and Sarafina and he also had many children whom he sired outside his wedlock.
Yesterday, Ciku had a function or a party where her mother was also in that functioning, her mother was the first wife of John De Matthew whom he married before marrying his other two wives but John divorced Ciku’s mother.
This was the first time Ciku’s mother was seen in public and many people did not know her.
