Charlene Ruto has given her followers a peek into the build-up to her wedding. On Tuesday, November 3, she has shared photos from her bridal shower on Instagram, including a welcome sign for the gathering.
Her caption has thanked the women who have walked life’s journey beside her, and a song by Bridget Blue has played over the post.
The president’s daughter has long kept her private life low-key, so the post has quickly caught attention. Her romance with Tanzanian technology entrepreneur Isaya Yunge has been public knowledge only since August 2026.
The couple has since celebrated a traditional Kalenjin engagement, known as Koito, at the President’s Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County.
That August event has drawn a crowd of notable guests, among them First Lady Rachel Ruto, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Ida Odinga, several governors and Cabinet secretaries. President Ruto has welcomed Yunge into the family and has praised the determination he has shown in winning his daughter’s heart.
Yunge has built a name in Africa’s technology scene. Born in Mwanza, Tanzania, on March 23, 1990, he has founded SomaApps Technologies, a platform linking African students to scholarships, along with KAYA, an AI-powered smart speaker built around African languages, and Somafit, a health-monitoring smartwatch for the African market.
He has done all this after a tough childhood that has included time in foster homes and on the streets of Mwanza.
That story of resilience has clearly stayed with the President, who has spoken warmly of Yunge. With the bridal shower now behind them, attention has turned to the wedding itself, which many Kenyans have been waiting for.
No date has been shared in the coverage so far, and reports have not said when guests should expect the big day. Until then, every new photo from the pre-wedding celebrations has been enough to keep fans talking and guessing.
