Raymond Omollo

Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has praised the rapid transformation taking place in Busia County, saying the region is witnessing major development projects that are improving the lives of residents. Speaking during a public engagement in the county, the PS noted that Busia is steadily becoming one of the regions benefiting from the government’s renewed focus on infrastructure, healthcare, and economic empowerment.

Omollo highlighted ongoing improvements in roads, housing, and public services, insisting that the government remains committed to ensuring every Kenyan enjoys equal access to development regardless of their location. According to the PS, the progress being witnessed in Busia reflects the government’s broader agenda of improving livelihoods while strengthening service delivery across counties.

At the same time, the Interior PS urged residents to continue registering for the Universal Health Coverage programme under the Social Health Authority (SHA). He said the programme is designed to guarantee affordable and accessible healthcare for all Kenyans, especially vulnerable families who often struggle to pay hospital bills. Omollo revealed that millions of Kenyans have already registered, showing growing confidence in the health reforms being rolled out nationwide.

The PS encouraged leaders and wananchi in Busia to support the registration exercise, arguing that healthcare remains one of the key pillars of national development. He emphasized that access to quality medical services would not only improve people’s well-being but also strengthen productivity and economic growth in local communities.

His remarks come at a time when the government is intensifying campaigns to boost SHA registration across the country while accelerating development projects in counties viewed as strategic economic hubs.
