A funeral ceremony descended into chaos after mourners became involved in a physical altercation at the graveside, resulting in three people falling into the open grave.
Footage circulating on social media shows the disturbing incident unfolding as several mourners gathered around a coffin that had been placed beside the burial site. The deceased had not yet been lowered into the grave when tensions suddenly escalated.
The exact cause of the confrontation remains unknown. In the video, several people can be seen surrounding a man dressed in black as an apparent dispute quickly turned physical.
The man was confronted and attacked by members of the group, while others attempted to intervene and restrain those involved. During the struggle, he was pushed onto the coffin. A woman then moved toward the casket and closed its open lid as the confrontation continued.
Despite efforts by some mourners to restore order, the situation remained tense. Several individuals continued struggling near the coffin, while another man appeared to lean against the casket during the commotion.
The confrontation intensified when another mourner climbed onto the coffin, apparently attempting to reach the man at the centre of the dispute.
The incident took a particularly alarming turn when two people fell into the open grave. One of the individuals appeared to lose his balance and fell into the burial pit before grabbing another person nearby. The second mourner was consequently pulled into the grave with him.
Rather than immediately ending the confrontation, the pair appeared to continue struggling after landing at the bottom of the grave.
A third man, who appeared to be carrying a spade, approached the burial site, seemingly intending to intervene and separate the two men. However, he also lost his balance and fell into the grave, bringing the number of people inside the burial pit to three.
Meanwhile, the confrontation continued around the coffin as other mourners remained involved. Eventually, the groups began moving away from the graveside, bringing the most intense part of the disturbance to an end.
The identities of those involved, the location of the funeral and the circumstances that sparked the confrontation have not been established.
