A fashion debate that began on social media has now evolved into a high-end style statement after renowned Kenyan designer Austin Bolo, popularly known as Bolo Bespoke, unveiled a luxury version of former ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo’s viral outfit.

The designer revealed the replica on June 10, 2026, responding directly to online discussions that followed Owalo’s appearance in a distinctive traditional West African-inspired ensemble during a visit to Luo Council of Elders Chairman Ker Odungi Randa in Nyando, Kisumu County.

Bolo Bespoke announced that his premium interpretation of the outfit carries a price tag of KSh364,000 and will only be available through advance bookings. According to the designer, the offer is limited and will run until the end of the month.

In a social media post that quickly attracted attention, Bolo appeared to reference criticism directed at Owalo’s original attire. He suggested that those who felt the former minister’s outfit lacked proper tailoring could now see what he described as a professionally crafted version from one of Africa’s leading fashion artisans.

The original outfit had already generated significant online discussion. Owalo wore the attire while meeting cultural and religious leaders in Kisumu County, where they held consultations on issues affecting communities across the country.
