Ugandan politician Robert Kyagulanyi has finally come out to clear the air as he revealed why he was arrested and detained for 12 hours immediately after landing in Dubai. In a series of tweets on Saturday the Musician turned politician told his fans that his phone and passport passport were taken away immediately he landed in Dubai. After 12 hours he was released but unfortunately the concert he was to attend had been cancelled.
After being released the former opposition leader shared a tweet revealing who ordered for his detention. He said that the owner had been called by Ugandan authorities and asked to cancel the concert. According to his sources the Ugandan authorities have been working behind the shadows to see that none of his plans work. They are the ones who ordered that he be arrested to disrupt his plans.
“Unfortunately our Charity Concert in Dubai has been cancelled! The venue owner has been instructed to cancel. The information available shows Ugandan authorities have been working tooth and nail to ensure it doesn’t happen! The first attempt was to deny me entry, and now this!” He said.
The concert was meant to create awareness among the Ugandan people and Africans abroad about the risks of traveling to work in Arabic countries. This follows an increased numbers of cases of people suffering abroad after travelling to work. His fans were angered by the events and cursed those that planned the arrest. Below are some of the comments Ugandans gave in Twitter.
