Blogger Githaiga wa Chai is under fire after sharing a leaked audio of gospel singer Karangu Muraya arguing with his wife, Triza Njeri. The recording, which spread widely on social media, has divided Kenyans and sparked heated debate.
In the viral clip, Triza is heard angrily confronting Karangu over his alleged relationship with his second wife, Carol Kim. She threatened to leave the marriage and even hinted at harming herself. Her pain and frustration shocked many online.
Both Karangu and Triza denied leaking the recording. Triza, however, accused Carol of being behind its release to bloggers. The blame quickly shifted to Githaiga, who was criticized for amplifying the drama.
Responding through Facebook, Githaiga defended himself, saying he was only doing his work. He insisted the recording was already out and that bloggers should not be blamed for what was released. He argued that the audio was meant to damage Triza’s image but had the opposite effect.
Githaiga also claimed that Karangu’s brand partnerships were failing because of the scandals, not because of bloggers. He dismissed claims that he was being paid to attack Karangu, saying if money was involved, Karangu himself would have silenced him long ago.
He went on to criticize Karangu for crying during a live session after the audio went viral, saying emotions would not solve the problems in his marriage. Githaiga declared that he would continue supporting Triza and warned that any attack on her would be strongly countered.
Triza later shared that she started doubting Karangu when he began spending nights away from home. She said he often ignored her calls and sometimes never returned, only for her to later learn about Carol’s involvement.
