Kenyan biker Brayo was left impressed after meeting a mother who was working hard to provide for her family while transporting water with the help of a donkey.
The unexpected roadside encounter happened on Tuesday, September 8, when Brayo came across the woman pushing a cart loaded with water jerricans. A donkey was pulling the cart, while the woman’s young child was seated on top of the containers.
Rather than simply riding past, Brayo stopped to speak to the woman and learn more about her daily work.
The mother appeared comfortable with her hustle and explained that she was doing what she could to support herself and her children. She also revealed that the child accompanying her was her second-born.
Brayo was visibly touched by her determination. He noted that such work is often associated with men but said the woman’s willingness to work hard for her family demonstrated strength and independence.
The biker decided to support her after their conversation. He offered to buy her some food and handed her KSh1,000 before preparing to continue with his journey.
He also shared a warm moment with the woman’s child, giving the youngster a fist bump before leaving.
In his reflection on the encounter, Brayo said the woman reminded him of his own mother and made him appreciate the different forms that strength can take.
The emotional moment, however, quickly turned humorous when Brayo became curious about the donkey that had helped the woman transport the water.
He asked the mother what she had named the animal.
Her answer caught him completely off guard.
She revealed that the donkey was called Sifuna.
Brayo immediately burst into laughter, turning what had been a touching conversation into a lighthearted moment. The unusual name also amused social media users who watched the video.
Some Kenyans joked about the apparent reference to politician Edwin Sifuna, while others focused on the woman’s treatment of the donkey.
