Robert Eboi, the husband of the late Florence Roberts, has opened up about the overwhelming attention he received from women shortly after his wife’s passing.
In a recent interview, Eboi revealed that he was bombarded with over 260 messages on Facebook from women expressing romantic interest even before Florence was laid to rest.
According to Eboi, some of the women who are now criticizing his decision to remarry were among those who previously sent him flirtatious messages. “Three weeks before my wife’s burial, I had 262 inbox messages.
Some of the same women making noise on social media are the ones who were sending me those messages,” he said. He recounted a particularly bold message from a woman in Nairobi who invited him for a private sleepover and insisted he come alone.
The man of God also disclosed details about his new wife, Susan, who had been a family acquaintance long before their relationship blossomed.
Susan, who works at Samsung, had previously sold mobile phones to both Eboi and his late wife, Florence. “She was a friend and a trusted client. She used to operate both our phones and knew my wife well,” Eboi noted.
Eboi clarified that their relationship developed naturally from friendship. As a pastor, he admitted he wasn’t sure where to find a new spouse, but Susan stood by him during a difficult time. Over time, their bond strengthened, leading to his decision to propose.
Eboi believes that the backlash over his remarriage is rooted in bitterness and jealousy. “They were applying before I buried my wife. It’s just anger and frustration,” he stated.
His candid revelations have sparked debate online, with many praising his honesty while others criticize the timing of his remarriage.
