Kenyan musician Kevin Bahati has disclosed details about an eight-year family conflict. The rift emerged after his sister wrongly accused his wife Diana Marua of stealing campaign funds.

Bahati spoke during a recent Mic Cheque Podcast interview. He revealed the incident occurred during his performance for former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s campaign.

The musician received substantial payment for his campaign performance. He stored the money in his bedroom drawer before traveling to Narok with Diana.

The situation turned sour upon their return home. The money disappeared from the drawer while the couple was away.

Bahati’s sister orchestrated a scheme against Diana. “She sent a fake prophet to tell me I am dating a thief,” Bahati stated.

The artist expressed deep hurt over his sister’s actions. The false accusations particularly stung because they involved spiritual manipulation.

The relationship deteriorated further due to family tensions. Earlier conflicts started when Bahati began supporting children from outside the family.

Morgan became Bahati’s adopted son during this period. Family members questioned his decision to help “outsiders” instead of focusing on blood relatives.

The musician currently maintains distance from his sister. Their relationship remains strained since the money incident.

Bahati has three siblings in total. One brother passed away, leaving him with two brothers and his elder sister.

The artist emphasized his spiritual nature during the interview. His sister attempted to exploit this aspect by sending the false prophet.

The timing proved fortunate for Diana Marua. Her presence in Narok during the incident cleared her name.

Bahati expressed gratitude for traveling with Diana that day. “If that day I never left with Diana in that house, probably we would have not been together,” he explained.

The family dispute centers on financial entitlement. His sister believed she deserved access to her brother’s earnings.

The incident permanently changed family dynamics. Their relationship remains unreconciled after eight years.
