Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has announced the resolution of a copyright dispute between musicians Kapitani and Master VK over their song Kitemeo, popularly known as “Bag Ni Ya Nini?”
In a statement shared on social media, Babu said the two artists reached out to him to help mediate their disagreement over the song.
He confirmed that the dispute had been successfully resolved, with Master VK agreeing to have the song restored on YouTube.
Babu also revealed that he and Master VK are working on other major projects, saying he will be part of the music video for their upcoming project.
The MP said the resolution was aimed at encouraging artists to settle their differences and work together rather than allow disputes to affect their creative work.
“As a country, we must create an environment where our artists can resolve differences, collaborate, and grow together,” Babu stated.
The development means fans may soon be able to access “Bag Ni Ya Nini?” again on YouTube following the agreement between the two musicians.
Babu further said he remains committed to supporting Kenyan talent and helping build bridges within the creative industry.
The song had gained attention on social media under the name “Bag Ni Ya Nini?”, making the copyright dispute between the two artists a subject of public interest.
