Raila for Au

Ohangla artist Onyi Jalamo, who gained fame for his 2017 hit song “NASA Tibim,” has officially switched his political support from Raila Odinga to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Onyi was part of the crowd that greeted Gachagua upon his return to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after a trip to the United States, where he had been connecting with the Kenyan community abroad.

In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Onyi shared that he has created a special remix of “NASA Tibim” to celebrate Gachagua’s return. He praised the former deputy president as a truthful leader who can help free the country. The artist also mentioned he is working on a new song called “Reset,” which will both honor Gachagua and critique the current government.

Onyi justified his decision by saying that music is his business and he can choose to sing for any leader he wants. He expressed strong belief that Gachagua could beat President William Ruto if elections were held today, confidently stating that the ex-DP would win 80% of the votes.

Onyi became popular during the 2017 elections with his lively performances for Raila’s NASA coalition, but this recent change shows a significant shift in his political stance within his music career.
