A viral video of a matatu driver in Kenya assaulting a female passenger has caused public outrage, with many Kenyans demanding the driver’s immediate arrest.
The incident, which was filmed by a fellow passenger, shows the driver slapping the woman during an argument over KSh 10.
According to the footage, the dispute began when the female passenger refused to pay the extra KSh 10 the driver demanded.
Despite offering the money initially, she later stood her ground and said, “Here is the KSh 10, and I am not giving you.”
The driver, clearly agitated, demanded that she send the money electronically. The situation quickly escalated, with the driver accusing her of being disrespectful.
As the argument intensified, the matatu driver slapped the woman multiple times.
The passenger screamed in pain, but she remained in her seat, refusing to get off the matatu despite the driver’s insistence.
Onlookers began to gather, watching the heated exchange unfold. However, no one intervened to stop the assault.
The video quickly spread across social media platforms, where many Kenyans expressed their anger over the driver’s behavior.
They criticized him for using violence to resolve a minor disagreement. Some encouraged the woman to file a police report and seek justice for the assault, while others condemned the bystanders for not stepping in to help.
