Kisii governor Simba Arati almost spoiled his opportunity to address at an ODM rally in Nyamira town after making an allegation about area governor Amos Nyaribo that did not sit well with the crowd.
In his speech, the Kisii governor alleged that governor Amos Nyaribo was an ‘Azimio person’. This allegation was not taken lightly by the Azimio crowd who began shouting back at him.
“Your governor is our person,” stated Simba Arati throwing the crowd into a moment of wild reaction. “No! no! hapana, hayuko!,” The crowd shouted back in reaction to the governor’s allegation.
Arati who had paused his speech as the crowd shouted back at him was forced to retract the statement. “Okay! okay!, we shall bring him to our camp,” said the governor.
It was only after governor Simba Arati retracted the statement that the shouting stopped. At some point, he was forced to retreat back to the local dialect to calm down the crowd.
With the simple allegation, the governor nearly fell out with the Azimio crowd who did not want anything to do with governor Nyaribo.
It should be noted that the Nyamira governor Amos Nyaribo was elected on an Amani National Congress ( ANC ) party ticket led by prime cabinet secretary Musalia Mudavadi. Recently, Nyaribo denied allegations that he was planning to head into UDA should Mudavadi match the party with UDA.
